Size
This is an animation where a young man is forced to work more and more by a gigantic figure until at one point he realizes there is something peculiar at the difference of their size.
Festivals
Size was chosen to be presented (amongst other digital works) at the Video Art Festival in Athens, 18-20 May 2012 and at the Antifascist Festival in Syros, 7-11 June 2012. It was also presented (and participated in the contest area) at the Animasyros 5.0 Festival in Syros (Sept. 2012) and at as part of the animasyros collection it was also presented at the Moving Silence festival in Athens (spring 2013) at the Days of Rethymno festival (2013) at the Animafest festival (Cyprus 2013) and at the 8th Festival of Audiovisual Arts in Corfu (May 2014)
Once upon a time
This is a small medieval fairytale about a lost kingdom, kings and dragons, and people that finally wake up…
It is made with flash and it’s based on a 4pages comic of 2010
Festivals
Once Upon a Time was presented at the Animasyros 6.0 festival (2013) and in the two day event “Tribute to Epic Fantasy: Greek Creators“, by the independent movie projection area Cinemarian (Athens, march 2015)
the player
Thoughts of a young striker that has forgotten how to score…
It is an animation made with flash, based on an older comic (2008)
Take them down
This is an animation based on some sketches I made in order to complete a short homemade videoclip for the song “Take them down” by Dropkick Murphys (from the album “Going out in style”, 2011).The illustrations mix drawing and real photos in order to create a semi realistic approach.
Los Socialistas
This is an idea for a small funny animation based on the terrifying fact that many socialist leaders (and members of the Socialist Union) were/are dictators, IMF leaders or politicians taking extremely unfair measures (or killing people as is the case of Barak).
The music I used is written by Ennio Morricone for the spaghetti westerns (For a few dollars, For a few dollars more & The Good, the Bad and the Ugly) of Sergio Leone.
(The animation was interactive, when the user clicked on each character, he was taken to that character’s page, where there was a short humorous description and he made a characteristic gesture saying a line. Unfortunately I can’t upload the original animation anymore, so I’m posting a promo video I made for youtube back then)
theft (movie)
This is a noir fotoromanzo movie produced during 2005 and 2007 but finally completed in 2010. The movie is actually made of screenshots of other famous noir films (amongst them there are “Big Sleep” (1946), “Dark Passage” (1947), “Gilda” (1946), “The Third Man” (1949), “Psycho” (1960) etc) which brings me to an awkward position to wonder whether there some legal copyright issues that should prevent me from showing the film. I’m not a big fan of copyright issues in general but anyhow I must that this film was not made in order to gain profit by any means.
The film watches a detective (the main hero) as he tries to find his way inside a mysterious case with murders, thefts, police corruption, femme fatales etc. Its duration is approximately 13 min.
Unfortunately, the initial size of the uncompressed film was over 2 Gb so i decreased its quality quite heavily with an flv format and a 30 Mb result. In my opinion, apart from some transitions the overall outcome is quite satisfying.
