“Leonardo, The dream and the nightmare” is a comic that started as an idea quite some time ago when I decided to turn an older text of mine entitled “Journey through the air” into a comic.
The original version was about Leonardo as a teenager trying to fly. Subsequently, I decided to expand the comic by covering the later years of Leonardo’s life and to enrich his dream of flying with dilemmas about his work. I settled on a three-part design, one based on the original Journey in the Air, the second in his mature years in Milan, and the last in his last days before he died in France.
